Actress Kangana Ranaut always wanted to play characters with the qualities of a 'supergirl'. She says her dream has come true thanks to her roles in forthcoming movies like "Queen", "Revolver Rani" and "Krrish 3".

Get ready for Saif-Kareena's 'Happy Ending'

Could we hope for a Happy Ending to this story at least? So far Saif and Kareena together on screen before or after marriage have spelt no magic at the boxoffice. They are coming together again now in Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK's Happy Ending, though Kareena will feature only in a cameo.

Being in a multi-starrer

There are six girls in the last movie I acted in. Of course, when so many heroines work together; there ought to be some sense of competition. Girls always like to compete. But we never had a catfight and had tremendous fun during the shooting.

Knowing the national language
When I came to India, I did not know a single word of Hindi; now I have dubbed for my character. This is quite an achievement for me. I can now read, speak and pronounce the language on my own with the help of my hindi tutor.

I try to watch hindi films and television programmes to understand the language better. Now that I have learnt it well, there will not be any language barrier as far as my Bollywood journey is concerned.

Embarking on Bollywood I began my acting career in college in Germany. I did my schooling there but never went to college as I was busy doing a lot of theatre in Portuguese language.

I was also fascinated with the idea of buying a house for my parents as I wanted to take care of them. When I heard that there are many modelling opportunities in Japan, I decided to move there to earn some quick bucks.

But I had to come back because despite staying there for three months, I couldn't make any money. I then started modelling in India.

And now that films have happened, life has come a full circle. I have bought a house for my parents and can take good care of them. What more can I ask for? Bollywood has made my dream possible.

“Boom” fame director Kaizad Gustad says Indo-Canadian porn star-turned-Bollywood actress Sunny Leone is not just eye candy in his film “Jackpot”. In fact, she is the mastermind of all that happens in the film.

“If you have Sunny Leone in your film, it cannot happen that you don’t have something sexy about her. But she is not just a prop or background or eye candy to look pretty (in the film),” Gustad said here in an interview.

“I have actually given her a role where she is playing a kind of femme fatale… She is the actual mastermind of all the ‘jhol’ (mischief) in the film. I’ve tried to portray her in a very intelligent way,” he added.

“Jackpot”, set in Goa, also features Naseeruddin Shah and Sachiin Joshi. It marks the Bollywood debut of Tamil actor Bharat.

The director is impressed with Sunny’s hard work and said that it’s always nice for a filmmaker to work with actors who are as dedicated as her.

“What I liked about Sunny is her determination and hard work. I found it very refreshing. She is always on time, always ready, waiting and listening and wanting to do more,” Gustad said.

Sunny made her Bollywood debut with “Jism 2″. She rose to popularity in India after her stint on the fifth season of TV reality show “Bigg Boss”.

Katrina’s spokesperson rubbishes the buzz and states, `This is not possible because on Ranbir’s birthday, he is going to be promoting his film Besharam and so he will be travelling.’

Preity Zinta to go to jail, non-bailable warrant issued

The local metropolitan magistrate's court at Andheri today issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Bollywood actress Preity Zinta in connection with a cheque bouncing case.

"The court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Zinta today," confirmed her lawyer Ratneshwar Jha.

Jha told PTI that he told the court that Zinta was out of the country, but the court issued the non-bailable arrest warrant against her.

"We will move the court to cancel the warrant or we will move the Bombay High Court and file a writ," Jha added.

The cheque bouncing case was filed by Abbas Tyrewala, dialogue writer of the movie 'Ishkq in Paris', released last year, after a cheque of Rs 18.9 lakh bounced.

It may be recalled that during the last hearing, the court had imposed a fine of Rs 5000 on Preity Zinta for non-appearance and the non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued, since she did not turn up in court on sept 12, 2013.

Without Poonam Pandey Big Boss 7 a Hit or Miss ?

One movie old Poonam Pandey, who is known for posting racy pictures on social networking sites has reportedly turned down the famous reality show ‘Bigg Boss 7’ for monetary reasons.

According to a tabloid, the ‘Nasha’ fame actress has left no opportunity unutilised to rake in publicity- be it promising to strip naked for the Indian cricket team or doing a bold movie. But the actress has surprisingly said no to Rs 2 crore for the upcoming season of reality show `Bigg Boss`.

"For this season of `Bigg Boss` Poonam was approached as well. She had asked Rs 3 crore, but they (officials of the show) agreed for Rs 2-2.5 crore. But she is not doing the show primarily due to monetary reasons," sources said.

The insiders also revealed that, this wasn’t the first time Pandey had been approached for the reality show; as the makers had earlier tried to rope in Poonam for the last three seasons for `Bigg Boss`. But they couldn’t come to an agreement regarding the money.

Poonam has earlier appeared on the small screen in a reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’.

Says a guest from the Junior Indian Idol finale, "For a minute everyone went deathly quiet when Ramcharan congratulated Vishal-Shekhar for the Lungi dance number. And then Priyanka Chopra was so embarrassed she spoke very fast and rushed out of the set with Ramcharan. We are sure she gave Ramcharan a mouthful because when they returned he looked red-faced and apologetic."

Needless to say, Ramcharan's lungi faux pas was duly edited from telecast.

In his defense a friend of Ramcharan says, "Ram is new to Mumbai and Bollywood. He is still trying to find his bearings here."

Milan Talkies recently faced a major change with Imran Khan being replaced by Shahid Kapoor. And now, the film has also lost its female lead. News is that Priyanka Chopra has also walked out of this Tigmanshu Dhulia film.

The much-married Shah Rukh Khan has done it and so has Aamir. Insiders say Sushant Singh Rajput, who is in a relationship with Ankita Lokhande, apparently shares a kiss with his co-star Parineeti Chopra in their next film.

But the actor apparently is very nervous since his girlfriend has no knowledge about her beau's lip-lock scene.

A source says, 'It's Sushant's second film and his first on-screen kiss. But unfortunately for him, he had not informed Ankita about it. The trailers have gone on air and he fears his girlfriend will come to know about it now.'

We don't know how Ankita will react but we hope she can get rid of her insecurities if any. Both Sushant and Ankita remained unavailable for comment.

Shortage of actresses in B-Town

Filmmakers feel presently there is an acute shortage of female leads in the industry with most of them facing casting woes or having to wait for months for their dates.

Almost every beauty pageant participant aspires to be an actress as soon as she is crowned. Small screen names hope to step on to the big screen while models are keen to trade in their catwalks for the celluloid. Add to this the plethora of girls who harbour dreams of lighting up the marquee. The girls may be willing and able but are they capable?

Most filmmakers feel there is a shortage of girls in the industry. Recently when filmmakers like Imtiaz Ali, Vikramaditya Motwane, Rohan Sippy and Vipul Shah among others had got together at the Mid-day office to discuss things they wished were a part of the industry, Motwane had quipped, `There's a real shortage of girls in the industry today.'

To which Imtiaz had added, 'Every time, one of us starts making a movie, we begin to look for girls who can act and you inevitably see that there's really nobody. While Sippy opined, 'Nowadays the secretaries /managers of the actress make them models - not actresses.

Asin only wants to work with the leading stars

Earlier, they were instinctive and knew what they are here for. Modelling agencies are now thinking that it's a similar thing to do when it clearly isn't. Yes, it's not easy to find actresses nowadays.'

Shah had added, `Unfortunately, the Indian mindset is that shaadi ho gayi toh buddhi ho gayi. A married actress can't take up so many projects. In fact, you see how our actresses don't get married till they are 35 or 37 because they believe in this perception, as there is a shift in audiences' love for them. They might be mature but the perception changes already.'

Diana Penty is in no hurry to sign her second film

Also, with some actresses preferring to be visible and raking in the moolah through event appearances and brand endorsements, they are in no hurry to continue doing any film. A Shraddha Kapoor may be infamous for rejecting roles while a Diana Penty is in no hurry to do a second film.
