Not ashamed of being a Porn star: Sunny Leone

(Here are notes from our interview with Sunny Leone)
AB: A lot has been happened to your career in Bollywood since we last spoke. How do you feel about the changes in your life and career?
Sunny Leone: This has been the most amazing transition that I could hope for. Being accepted and liked in another country is not something that happens all the time.

AB: How accepting has Bollywood been of you? Do you feel completely at home here?
Sunny Leone: Bollywood has been very accepting. I know there are people out there that don't like me but there are more people liking me so it doesn't bother me. I am very lucky that when I entered Bollywood I was coming with a fan-following already. And the Big Boss Season 5 show helped everyone else get to know me as a person. Moving to India from Hollywood was one of the easiest moves I have ever made. Effortless really.

AB: You performed an item song in Shootout At Wadala. How difficult was it for you to master all those filmy manoeuvres?
Sunny Leone: It was a challenge but I fortunately was working with one of the easiest choreographer Ahmed Khan and his team Karishma, Khalid and Bob. They made me feel so comfortable that is was able to relax and just dance. I was the child growing up that wanted to play football, hockey, basketball and so on, so this is a challenge for me to learn a whole new art. But something that I can promise anyone one I work with is that I am a fast learner and I work very very hard to get it right within the scope of my ability.

AB: You next project is Ekta Kapoor's Ragini MMS 2? How comfortable are you in the horror genre?
Sunny Leone: Honestly I loved working on this film. There is a lot of performance in this movie and a huge range of emotions and of course horror. I don't mind the idea of not looking pretty in every shot. To me this is my way of getting out of who I am and becoming someone completely different for the day. I'll be able to talk in more detail once the movie comes out.

AB: How much of the Indian film industry have you so far come to terms with?
Sunny Leone: I am not sure I fully understand this question. But I grew up in a typical Punjabi home and watched Hindi movies during my childhood. I understand Hindi and Punjabi and the Indian film industry is like every entertainment industry across the world. It all functions the same just in a different language. I have moved my whole world here and love this industry of Bollywood.

AB: Do you feel it's hard for an outsider like you to crack the Bollywood code?
Sunny Leone: I can't speak for someone else's experiences in life but for me because of my background and the fact that I have been in entertainment for 13years did give me the basic understandings of how things work. But also again I work very very hard and around the clock trying my hardest to learn everything that bollywood is. I'm not even sure if I have fully cracked the "code" but I have begun the process hopefully. It all depends on how my second, third and forth movie do. In all reality I have only made one movie that has been released to the world. It all depends on how the world accepts me in those movies to come.

AB: Have you left your days as an adult star behind? How do you look back on that experience?
Sunny Leone: Right now my whole focus is in Bollywood and nothing else. I believe I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime and I plan to keep my focus and energy here till the fans want me. If it wasn't for my past I would not be who I am. I am not ashamed of it because it has brought me here to India. If I came here as regular me with no entertainment experience then I would not be as popular as I am today with the public.

Indian Wedding Beliefs and Superstitions

1. Spill the milk: In the wedding households, it is important to observe precautions, even while boiling milk. During this time, family members must be careful while boiling milk. It is said that spilling of milk before or after the big day signals towards some pending misfortune.
2. Curb your creative instincts: If you are planning to design your own wedding dress to show your creative side, it is best to retract your decision. It is considered to be unlucky for the would-be-bride and groom to design their wedding dresses.

3. Lenders and borrowers: Well, if you are thinking about lending your dress to someone else then give it a second thought. Although, for the borrower it might bring some good luck. But, this generosity of yours might bring bad omen for you.

4. Match your earings: Make sure to wear earrings on your big day because it is considered quite auspicious. Not only this, even newly married women should wear earings as they are supposed to fill your married life with happiness.

5. Let the kaleerein fall: In the north Indian customs, brides wear a 'chooda' on which her family members and friends tie kaleerein (red and golden ornaments). After this the bride moves her hand over the head of the unmarried girls in her family. It is said that if kaleerein falls on someone's head, then that girl will be next in the line to get married.
6. Good and bad sights: On your wedding day, if you see a black cat or a rainbow then it is considered to be a good luck. But, spotting an open grave, lizard or a pig is a bad fortune.

7. Let it rain: If it rains on your wedding day, then don't be gloomy. Although, it may dampen some of your preparations but it is considered to be an auspicious omen. Falling of rain is a good sign for fertility for the married couple.

8. Flaunt your cooking skills: In many parts of India, a week before the wedding it is customary for the bride-to-be along with seven other married women to make small balls of "chana dal" (lentil balls). These balls are then sent to the groom's house. It is a sign to ensure that his kitchen always stays filled with food at all times.

9. Don't light candles: It is also believed that if the candles lit during your wedding start to sputter out then it is not a good sign. It means that an evil spirit is nearby.

10 Hit the couple: Throwing rice at the couple during their wedding is considered to be auspicious. It is a sign of abundance and fertility and a way to protect the newlyweds from the veil spirits

Who is behind split Ranbir Kapoor and actress Deepika Padukone

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has denied reports that his mother being the reason behind his split with actress Deepika Padukone, claiming it was their own individual choice.

Ranbir, 30, and Deepika, 27, began dating when they met on the sets of 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' in 2008 and the couple split after a year.

"It's an issue between two individuals, but people work on several theories and then disturb things. My mother loves me a lot and wants me to live my own life. My mother is also very fond of Deepika. So, at least this was not the reason for the split. I want to clarify, my mother was not the reason for the break-up," Ranbir said on a television show.

There were reports that the actor broke-up with the 'Cocktail' star because Ranbir's mother Neetu Kapoor did not approve of their relationship.

A Family responsible Katrina Kaif

Newton's Laws of Motion via 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'

Almost all of us, watched 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'...The message of this movie can be described with 'Newton's Laws of Motion', which almost all of us read in school level physics...Let me explain !!

First Law: -

"If an object experiences no net force, then its velocity is constant: the object is either at rest (if its velocity is zero), or it moves in a straight line with constant speed"....In the movie, its shown that, Samar's life (object) almost came to a standstill (at rest), after his break-up with Meera... Afterwards, when Akira (net force) rekindled the lost love in Samar's heart through some incidents, he again started to relive (moving in a straight line with constant speed)...

Second Law:

"The acceleration of a body is parallel and directly proportional to the net force acting on the body, is in the direction of the net force, and is inversely proportional to the mass of the body"...Love always comes accompanied by ebullience + torment... Hope + Hopelessness... Light + darkness... Love gets fulfilled when its mutual (as seen in Samar-Meera).. But when its one-sided (in case of Akira), then despair automatically knocks at the door...But, if we truly love the very basic essence of 'life', then the 'momentum' of love can't be stopped...No other external force can impose a barrier to the acceleration of life if the wheel of vivacity is driven by the internal force called 'love'...

Third Law:

"When a first body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force on the first body"...In this film aka in 'reel life' it was shown that, Meera fell in love with Samar despite their huge socio-economical differences...In 'real-life' too, love can create wonders!! All of us, have our specific requirements / fantasies / expectations regarding our 'special person/lover'...If someone loves us & we don't find our individualistic requirements in that particular person, then we don't reciprocate to his/her feelings in the same way...But, if you truly love a person & decent enough in your approach towards him/her, then, there is a good probability that, your beloved ones will surely respect your attitude & appreciate you for what you are & afterwards, if the cupid strikes, then, this 'liking' can turn out to be 'love' as well...

P.S. This is a light take on the theory of Romance...Cannot guarantee about its practical implementation

Jab We Met again Kareena and John Abraham

What happened when Kareena Kapoor came across old foe John Abraham at a Bandra restaurant. They may have taken a dig at each other in public before but looks like John Abraham and Kareena Kapoor may have put their differences aside for now. Apparently the two came across each other at a Bandra restaurant on Wednesday night and exchanged warm pleasantries.

A source says, 'John was with Sanjay Gupta while Kareena was accompanying Saif. John and his director friend were there to discuss their next project together when Saifeena walked in and were seated at the next table. Saif noticed Gupta and came over to chat with the duo.'

A waiting Bebo too apparently came over to their table for a friendly hello. Onlookers say despite the initial awkwardness between Kareena and John, they allegedly spoke to each other for a couple of minutes. The two actors have had a history of sorts. Bebo had called John a 'wooden actor' and his then-girlfriend Bipasha Basu a kaali billi.

In return, John had referred to the actress as `inane people'. Since then, the two have stayed away from each other at public events. Even on the sets of Race 2, Bebo visited Saif quite a few times but apparently steered clear of John.

John confirms the meet-and greet with Kareena and states, 'It was very cordial.'

Poonam Pandey bares it all for new poster of 'Nasha'

After creating enough buzz with it's first poster and trailer, Poonam Pandey is back with a provocative poster for debut film 'Nasha'

The actress has dared to bare it all as she stares away, clad in nothing except two strategically placed placards.

'Nasha' is the story of an 18-year-old boy who falls hopelessly in love with a 25-year-old woman. A woman he cannot have, but a woman he cannot help but desire. And, as is the case with desires unfulfilled, they turn into obsessions.

Yet, every obsession is a lesson learnt an experience gained. So that, in the course of coping with his unrequited love, the boy requites a lot more.

Both he and the woman come of age. Beyond mere years, in the truest sense of the word. A tale as much of longing as of losing, 'Nasha' is a story that transcends seasons and generations. Because we've all been there, done that. And shall continue to do so...

Nandini (Aishwarya Rai) is the daughter of Pandit Darbar (Vikram Gokhale), renowned proponent of Indian classical music, living in the Rann of Kutch. Nandini has been brought up with more freedom and education than her siblings, as she is the most beloved of Pandit Darbar. Into this carefree life enters Sameer (Salman Khan), a boy of Indo-Italian parentage who wants to learn Indian classical music from Pandit Darbar. Sameer stays with the Darbar family, and Nandini is asked to vacate her room to give the guest the nicest room in the manor. Nandini takes a dislike to Sameer, and the two keep playing pranks on each other, but soon realise they are in love. Their love blossoms in the Darbar household around weddings, festivals and family get-togethers. One day the pair are caught rehearsing their wedding vows and dreaming of their future together by Pandit Darbar, who becomes furious with them. He has already planned Nandini's wedding. Sameer is kicked out of the house and asked never to contact Nandini again. Sameer does not leave India immediately. He stays in town and writes letters to Nandini asking her to join him, but his letters do not reach her in time. Nandini's parents have arranged to get her married to Vanraj (Ajay Devgan) — who had fallen in love with Nandini during her cousin's wedding. On the wedding night, Vanraj realises that Nandini is not herself and tries to ask her why she is not responding to his love. He asks her for the truth, promising he will help her no matter what.
